Driver Licensing Access Program (DLAP)

Homebase’s Driver Licensing Access Program (DLAP) helps people navigate the various licensing pathways from pre-learners to a full license.

The program is funded by NSW Roads and Maritime Services.

We can provide assistance with:

  • Gaining your required identification
  • Access to a computer
  • Improving literacy, numeracy and computer skills
  • Applying for a license
  • An exemption fee from the L Plate Hazard Perception Test
  • Learner driver mentoring and supervision
  • Access to roadworthy vehicles
  • 2 paid professional lessons
  • Debt negotiation and management

DLAP is aimed towards community members who are disadvantaged and have barriers to gaining or regaining their license.

While priority for driving hours and driving lessons is given to those ages between 17 and 25, we can provide assistance to community members outside this age.

We operate in Gloucester, Taree and The Great Lakes.

Contact Homebase Youth Services to complete an intake form and be assigned a program worker. From here, and depending upon the category of license, we offer a wide range of services to get you safely and legally on the road.

Certain programs require certain standards such as minimum amounts of lessons and meetings with your program worker. We will go through this as you sign up.

We are also requiring members of the community with the capacity to become mentor drivers. If you are interested in becoming a Mentor Driver for Homebase Youth Services, please contact reception on 6555 5622.
